W1: Why are you taking this class? What practical skills do you expect to gain from attending it?

  •  Why are you taking this class?
               At first, I was hesitant to take the course because I planned to take only major courses. However, my plan didn't go well, and I'm only registered for one major class out of four major classes I wanted. The title of the course itself sparked my curiosity. Besides, I'm always up for new things to learn. Though, after I checked the syllabus, I became more interested. I asked my friend about the class, and he recommended taking this class because he told me the assignments in this class are Wikipedia blog writing. I, myself, major in English Literature, and I love writing. But, I also have a keen interest in Sociology. I think this class might be the course that helps facilitate my interests. 
  • What practical skills do you expect to gain from attending it? 
                After reading the syllabus, I look forward the most to learn about collective intelligence because it is something new to me. However, practically, I do expect to gain better knowledge in data collecting and content writing skills from the Wikipedia assignment.
