W15 : What did I learn while editing Wikipedia?/YANG RUIXIN 양서영

Image
I think Wikipedia has taught me knowledge management and many friends want to know what the best knowledge management is. The fact that the world's strongest knowledge management program has never been shaken in decades is Wikipedia. 1.  does a lot of intercorrelation between knowledge. Just like "fruit", "banana", "fruit plantation", these are three different concepts, Wikipedia can not only explain its own characteristics but also in the content. We can understand the relevant knowledge through the link to the encyclopedia page. Wikipedia can clearly explain a single concept of knowledge and associate the knowledge in the form of a link so that the knowledge will form a network architecture in our brain, and our understanding and memory will be clearer.   It reminds me of this toy that often plays with my family. " Story Cubes』, the six sides of each dice draw one thing. The playing method is to make a story for everyone after the dice roll out....

W14 : The new power of collaboration / YANG RUIXIN

1. Summary The video introduces the history of collaboration. He explained how people were involved in the cooperation. 2.  Interesting point I am most interested in that person connected through the internet may create a new form of economy or system. When people ask: What is the most important change in the digital society? We think this brings us: " Change from group-centered life to network-centric life. 」 Groups are closely together, most members recognize each other and rarely connect to other groups. A network, where most members do not know each other, has many remote connections far away from the core and form a small-world network. Although in groups people enjoy the warmth and comfort the community offers, people need at least some different kinds of relationships, those away from the core strong-relationship groups, to get something the clique community cannot offer. 3. Discussion point We often say that one may go fast, but a group of people will go further, and that ...

Among them, the main means of performance is the classification catalog system and uses a variety of retrieval ways to cooperate and assist, to facilitate users to find, edit and read. Compared with the classification system of Wikipedia has its own characteristics of the traditional knowledge organization system, this paper aims to analy...

W12) What is “quality” for our societies? /양서영 YANG RUIXIN

We often say that the pursuit of "quality" is a noble behavior. To understand this, we must start from the definition of quality. Quality is defined as "several inherent characteristics of the entity, the extent of satisfaction". This definition contains three terms, one "entity" one inherent feature, and one requirement. Let's look at how the three terms should be understood, which can help us correctly understand "quality." Let's first just understand the concept of an entity. An entity is defined as "anything perceived or imagined."Such as products, services, activities, people, organizations, society, … …Everything you can imagine can be called an entity. From this definition, we can think that small to a piece of paper, a cup of tea around us, big to our life, our career, our society is of quality. What is the "inherent feature"? Literally understood, we can easily define the inherent characteristics. The so-calle...

W11: Is quality subjective or objective? / YANG RUIXIN

1.   Summary: As we all know, quality is the property of the product. As long as there is a product, there must be quality. And the product exists objectively, so we usually believe that the quality should also exist objectively. However, quality requires us to perceive, judge, and recognize. Therefore, the quality has certain subjectivity. Quality may be fixed or given. So I really can't make it clear whether the quality is subjective or objective. Therefore, I think that quality is both objective and subjective, and is often a unity of objectivity and subjectivity. 2.  Interesting Point If from the user's point of view, Quality is more than a purely technical problem, and how to meet the needs of life,Quality characteristics for meeting human psychological needs,Is the subjective quality, when the objective quality reaches a certain level, The key reference conditions for competent quality evaluation are also the key to quality improvement. 3.  Discussion Point So do you...

The information age has promoted economic development,  the economic development has continuously promoted the information age big stride , too.  Yes, the Internet is not just a tool for us; it has become our teachers  and friends, even become ourselves by recording past data. Online shopping changes the way we consume.  Online shopping is a way of shopping derived from the Internet, its emergence has changed the consumption concept of a generation or even generations.  Not buying online means you're behind, so our parents, even grandparents, choose to buy online, not only convenient but also cheap.  Consumption is the theme of people, online shopping has been integrated into all aspects of young people's lives . A survey of Chinese college students was conducted at random and asked how much cash they had. As a result, most college students go out without cash but choose another Internet derivative, mobile payment. As 4 G network, wireless network coverage, ...

W9 : When do you think we can use wikipedia as a source? / YANG RUIXIN

Wikipedia has become the first-ever updated encyclopedia in the world, promoting the collation and sharing of human knowledge and making knowledge free and open. But in Wikipedia, we still find incorrect information. Because the "Wikipedia" entry comes from the folk, anyone can write, although there is a dedicated person to manage the site, as its disclaimer says," Wikipedia does not guarantee the validity of its content ". A lot of people think that Wikipedia's "authority" is not that his content is really authoritative, but because all his content requires second-hand information and requires a referenc e. First-hand information —— is your own experience, for example, you see the sky is blue, you say the sky is blue ;Or you do an experiment, you take out the experimental data is a hand-in-hand information. Second-hand information —— is what you listen to, such as the news you see in the newspaper, the text in the textbook, the articles in the science...

W8: Thoughts after reading "Reliability of Wikipedia" / YANG RUIXIN

Points to discuss The first thing to understand is that Wikipedia has never claimed authority. See what he says:Wikipedia is a multilingual, web-based, free encyclopedia that is based on a model of openly editable content. It is the largest and most popular general reference work on the Internet and is named as one of the  most popular websites by Alexa rank. My understanding 1. Focus:reference work . “reference ”   is “ for what it worth ”   2 . What is authority? Is the credibility high or not ? Academic credibility is divided into two aspects, one is the credibility of the author, the other is the credibility of the information carrier. The credibility of the author is to see how high the identity and achievements of the author are. For example, MIT physics professors are more credible than physics undergraduates at Shandong University and undergraduates are better than high school students. And so on.   The credibility of the information carrier is to see whether...

W 7. Good Faith Collaboration /양서영(YANG RUIXIN)

1. Summary An online encyclopedia, Wikipedia (Wikipedia), is built by a community of wiki  men , in which people want to communicate with each other "assuming they are honest ".   Joseph Reagle examines this unique culture of cooperation in Good faith Cooperation. Reagle believes that maintaining an open perspective on knowledge claims and other contributors can create extraordinary cooperation potential.  Wikipedia's culture of cooperation brings us closer than ever to a century of universal encyclopedias. As we all know, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia that anyone can edit,  Riegel analyses the openness of Wikipedia and the challenges it faces. He explored the process of reaching consensus on Wikipedia and studied the way leaders and authorities work in an open content community. 2. Interesting Point ee-sharing, universal encyclopedias,The difference between Wikipedia and those projects is its culture of integrity, This is reflected not only in writing and editing art...

W6 / Why do people contribute to Wikipedia? They are not getting paid...YANG RUIXIN 양서영

Image
In the organization, if you don't do well, punish you. Traditional companies have always relied on external incentives to pressure you with positions and salaries. But in Wikipedia, no one pays you, and there is no dismissal. But why are people still working for Wikipedia? 1.I nner motivation I think the real motivation is to promote a person's self-selection, which is  inner  motivation.  We have forgotten that our free time is always our own, we can consume them, create them and share them, we can accumulate mediocrity into excellence...And this process brings us a sense of achievement! Bring us inner motivation!   2. Interest The person loves to build Lego blocks is because building blocks is his hobby.  Lego did not want users to build their own blocks at the earliest and felt that they should produce various versions of the model. But Lego's behavior, not only did not trigger the user's passion but let the user resent. After a few years, Lego adjusted its s...

W5) Do you think Wikipedia is right to reject censorship? /YANG RUIXIN

Image
 1. Summary First of all, I want to share a story,To ensure content neutrality, Wikipedia has even had a "fight" with the U.S. Department of Justice ",In 2008, U.S. Department of Justice officials revised a pro-Israel term for Media Surveillance Group in Wikipedia,Deleted the scandal that is unfavorable to oneself in the entry, added some "glorious deeds ". Wikipedia temporarily blocked the IP address of the U.S. Department of Justice. Wikipedia Founder Jimmy Wales at the meeting,Wikipedia would rather give up doing business in countries than accept any form of Internet censorship in countries. Wikipedia will never comply with the requirement to restrict information, and access to knowledge and education is a human right. Some views of some opponents: Shen Yi, an Internet research expert at Fudan University's Department of International Politics, told the Global Times that the Internet was never unregulated. The speech by the founder of Wikipedia gives the ...

W3: How do we participate in Web 2.0? How to create the modern culture?

Image
What is Web2.0? The main characteristic of Web 1.0 is that users can browse and obtain information only over the Internet. Web 2.0 focuses more on user communication and interaction. Users are both browsers of Internet content and makers of Internet content, providers of services, disseminators of information, innovators of behavior. In other words, in the former Web 2.0 era, companies or other institutions were the main body of the Internet world, while Web 2.0 made individuals the real core of the Internet world. Web 2.0 has been recognized as a "real network revolution" in the Internet world, representing the future. How do we participate in Web 2.0? Because I personally like and good at dancing very much, this ability can make me better integrated into the entertainment section of the Internet,The way I participated in Web 2.0 was to update the dance video in Tiktok, China. Now that I'm a dance blogger, I can watch my favorite bloggers on Tiktok, learn their best plac...
