W1: Why are you taking this class? / What practical skills do you expect to gain from attending it?


▶ Why are you taking this class?


  I am attracted to learning and studying Wikipedia while taking this class.

  I currently participate in a club making some news contents and uploading them on Instagram. The purpose of this club is that people could get the information or news more easily through the club's contents. In order to achieve this purpose, I need to get a lot of information about the subject of news so I do searching it hard when I make news contents.

  As you know, Wikipedia is one of the most famous and popular websites to get information. I usually use Wikipedia when I want to know the background of an event or an incident. When I found this class, it was so interesting to learn and study Wikipedia which I am familiar with when I make some news contents.


▶ What practical skills do you expect to gain from attending it?


  I would like to improve Media Literacy from attending the class.

  Media Literacy is the ability to get information from a various of media with a critical perspective. With the development of the Internet, there is a lot of information in media. The information is from many people so it is not sure whether the information is correct. As I said before, I am an editor now in the club and I hope to become an editor or a journalist in the future. Therefore, it is so important for me to use Media Literacy when determining if it's the right information for my contents. I think I could improve the ability when editing Wikipedia as well as studying and learning it during this course.
