How important are contributions of a single individual in the sea of “collective intelligence”?
The power of a group may be stronger than that of an expert. Let me give you an example you've heard at least once. When there are three options for the question, let's say the answer is "A" too naturally. But when everyone around you answers 'C' instead of 'A', what would you say is the answer? About 75 percent of people agree with the answer 'C'. Even if a group's opinion is not right, and even if you know what's right, members of the group can never ignore it. In other words, even with this piecemeal experiment, you can see how powerful the group is.
The more people gather, the more collective intelligence they have. However, just bringing people together doesn't always produce good results. Just like the case above. In order to make good use of the power of a group, it is important to make the results with everyone's power, not one.
One magazine said that a "compensation system" and "leadership" device are needed for collective intelligence to be achieved naturally. However, it was said that the 'compensation system' should be viewed as a means to induce cooperation, not competition. He also explained that leadership should be necessary to encourage people to participate, or to give people emotional support.
This magazine explained the following opinion using Korean entertainment programs as an example, but I quickly understood it. Even in the program I enjoyed, it was possible to interpret it as a form of collective intelligence, and when I think about it, collective intelligence seems to be a large part of the area of our lives. So I can say it again. How important is it to contribute to collective intelligence? It's very, very important!
What do you think about my opinion?
I also think that the influence of individuals on groups is important, but the influence of groups on individuals is also great. This is because it is difficult for individuals to present opinions that contradict the opinions of many people, as in the "Silent Spiral" theory.
ReplyDeleteThe more people, the greater the power of collective intelligence, but I think we should try to make good use of the power of collective intelligence because it is not always directed in the right direction.
I read your writing well. I agree with your confident answer 'it's very very important'. There's a saying that many drops make a shower. It means that small things will become big things later when they are collected. Although Wikipedia's individual contribution may seem small, no one knows what it will be like when it builds up.
