W7.1 Good Faith Collaboration / Kim Yoon(김윤)

Summary

The second review I looked for was a review of "MIT Press."
According to the reviewer, the book 'Good Faith Collaboration' deals with cultural values shared by voluntary groups working on projects online, such as Wikipedia, and interesting phenomena in it. In Wikipedia, social interactions are sometimes very active, such as tensions and contradictions. The reviewer gave a positive assessment of the book in that it attempted to interpret Wikipedia in detail. Other books are mainly based on abstract interpretations of Wikipedia. The reviewer also recognized that Wikipedia's collaborative culture has many similarities to the aspects of communication within the organization in societies, and evaluated that this process is more important than Wikipedia itself.

Interesting/Useful things

I also thought that some phenomena happening on Wikipedia resemble the real world, so I read them with sympathy with the reviewer's review. In fact, it was interesting to me once again that I talked lightly with people about a seemingly trivial topic at first, and that it led to serious and intense discussions, which also happened in Wikipedia, an online project.
