W10: Thoughts after reading "Free-culture movement". WANG XIAOLING, 왕효령

 1) Summary

After reading about the "Free-culture movement", I have a detailed understanding of the historical background and organization of the free culture movement, and left a deep impression on me.  In the book "Free Culture", regarding the extension of copyright protection period, Lawrence Lessig a proposed "free culture", and he also supports free software and openness. There are also doubts and criticisms from different people in society.

2) Interesting point

How monopolistic institutions imprison culture and inhibit innovation by manipulating laws and technology, while free culture and people’s digital rights should be protected to a greater degree in the new millennium, just like human rights today. Lessig believes that "the opposite of free culture is a ‘permitted culture’... in which creators can only create with the permission of the original author or a powerful force".

3) Discussion point

What kind of influence do you think the Free-culture movement has brought to the present era?
