W3 : Why is Wikipedia less popular in South Korea than in most other developed countries? -KIM JINA

In my opinion, it is because there are many other encyclopedia sites in Korea that are more common than Wikipedia. In Korea, there is an encyclopedia site provided by ‘Naver’ and ‘Daum’ portals. There is also a site called <Name Wiki>, similar to Wikipedia, where users can edit documents themselves.


Also, I think Wikipedia's layout is difficult for people to use because it is not a common layout in Korea. Personally, the design of the homepage was also very academic, making it uncomfortable to use it comfortably.


The number of Korean users of Wikipedia is decreasing, and the amount of information Koreans need is decreasing. Wikipedia will have more users if it changes the design and layout of the platform in a friendly manner and emphasizes Wikipedia's unique advantages.

1.
