W9: Do you think Wikipedia is reliable? Why or Why not? / Park Chan Young (박찬영)

1. Opinion

I think Wikipedia is reliable. If we look at Wikipedia itself, we might think it's unreliable. But compared to Wikipedia and other sources in the Internet, Wikipedia is a more reliable source. First, articles written on blogs are personalized information. Even writers can upload information without knowing it's wrong. Also, the author's individual thoughts and biases can enter the article. Wikipedia, by comparison, creates information through the power of collective intelligence. More neutrality can be observed in the process, and errors can be corrected. In addition, Wikipedia's information has a source, which helps users to determine whether it is reliable.

2. Discussion Point

Nevertheless, it seems difficult to trust Wikipedia completely. What would Wikipedia supplement to gain more reliability?
