W12 : What is "quality" for our societies?/ MINJI JEONG

-What is "quality" for our societies?

I think the quality of society comes from the stability of the lives of the citizens and their happiness. In other words, I think the quality of life of citizens is the quality of society. Of course, it cannot be overlooked that the criteria for happiness are subjective and relative to each individual. However, I believe that the happiness index for each country released by the U.N. can be used as an objective indicator.

Korea is one of the countries where citizens have high stability in their lives, but significantly lower happiness levels. Overheated competition and pressure on life are words that are far from happiness. In this society, "work-life balance" is taking place like a trend. I think this is the will to stabilize the quality of life and happiness of the people. Therefore, the quality of society in Korea cannot be evaluated entirely as "good."
