W15. What did I learn while editing Wikipedia? How is the assignment different from more traditional student assignment? Is it more fun?

"Collective Intelligence" class was a bit different from the classes I've taken so far. In most of the classes, the professor unilaterally explained the concept and we took a test. However, this class gave us a sociology class related to collective intelligence and made us write down my thoughts on the subject. In addition, we selected two articles related to currently hot issues, and interpreted them, and uploaded at Wikipedia. Unlike previous classes, it required my active participation, so it was hard but fun.

Through the Wikipedia assignment, I realized the importance of copyright and learned responsibility for my post. I didn't know much about Wikipedia, but from now on, I will use it more.

1. What did I learn while editing Wikipedia?  The most important thing I learned from editing Wikipedia is the joy of participating in collective intelligence. Before the class, I only used Wikipedia. But I was given the opportunity to edit Wikipedia through class. It is difficult than I expected to edit a steady every week. But I was pleasantly able to edit the idea that my hard work contributed to making a better encyclopedia. The joy felt when I found a topic that lacked explanation became the driving force for editing. I thought it was a small group of people and I thought it was their job to create a collective intelligence. However, as I edited, I realized that spontaneity and enjoyment were very important factors in creating Wikipedia. 2.
