W6 : How important are contributions of a single individual in the sea of "collective intelligence"? - KIM JINA

 Summary

Collective intelligence refers to the collective ability that a large number of people have gained as a result of cooperation or competition with each other. I think the most important thing in collective intelligence is collaboration. I think all of the participants play a very important role because it is to cooperate, compete, and develop outcomes that cannot be produced alone. In that sense, I think 'individuals' are very important and play a big role in collective intelligence because they correspond to all participants.

Interesting point

Listening to the collective intelligence class, I thought Wikipedia really reflected the case of collective intelligence. Wouldn't it be possible to find examples of collective intelligence on social networking sites that have many users such as Twitter and Instagram besides Wikipedia?

Discussion point

In a situation where collective intelligence is needed, can we expect good results if any of the participants are unfaithful? If there's someone like this, how should we deal with it?
