Week 4: Good faith collaboration / Jeong Hyeon-su

1. Summarize

I read “Good faith collaboration”. This article explain Wikipedia’s policies and guidelines in more detail than the previous article. The concepts used in Wikipedia(ex: NPOV) have ambiguous by words alone. So, it explain what this word means in Wikipedia. For example, neutral point can be interpreted in various ways. According to how to interpretation, the way of keeping neutrality can be different.

2. Interesting items what I learned

The index card’s using way was interesting. It said the index card(red link)is useful way to saying my requirement. I didn’t think I can require something by the red link. After reading it, I considered the index card can be a way to prove demand of information.

3. Discussion point

Before the previous blog, I wrote the NPOV blocks minority’s activity in Wikipedia. But after reading detailed explanation in this article, my mind is little bit changed. But there is still some question. NPOV means equal respect for all verifiable perspectives of view(not equal coverage of all verifiable perspectives). If the quantity of a perspective controlled by the number of supporters, some articles cannot contain any contents by loop of trolling and delete. For example, Korean Wikipedia’s anti-discrimination law article is not meaningful because only homophobic, Islamophobic remarks by certain religious forces and deletions are repeated. So, I want to talk about how to solve this problem.
