With the integration of information technology and human production and life, the Internet is rapidly spreading. With computers as the carrier, an open, sharing, and communicating network platform has been established. At this time, an online encyclopedia written in multiple languages appeared-Wikipedia. In this website, people can access and edit content freely, and there is no need to pay when publishing content. As well as gathering the opinions of everyone, and it is also a kind of shared or group intelligence, called collective intelligence. It has also become the most popular global knowledge body by the people. 


•  Attracted by Wikipedia's "unbiased" articles

Although people can freely express their opinions on Wikipedia, each of people’s opinions is expressed fairly, instead of claiming that any one of these points is correct. In other words, it is to express the controversial point of view, not to make it a fact. Therefore, you can see the most sincere and true articles of "unbiased" and "neutral viewpoint" on the Wikipedia website, and will not be guided by any public opinion or prejudice. 


•  Learn more about sociology through Wikipedia

Want to understand from the perspective of sociology, the method of sociology to explore society and human behavior, etc. Using the basic knowledge and basic theories of sociology to understand, analyze, and solve the problems around me, so that I can better adapt to social life and social development.


Therefore, I am interested in Wikipedia, which is the most popular among people in the world, and want to join it and communicate with people all over the world.

•  Skilled editing of Wikipedia

If you want to participate in editing Wikipedia, it is actually a bit difficult for me who do not know how to use Wikipedia, so I want to be able to edit Wikipedia more proficiently after passing this course. 


•  Communicative competence

And we are all social people living in society. In fact, everyone is not isolated, but is an object related to it. We have to interact with many people every day. Therefore, how can society and people and people get along better? When editing Wikipedia while gaining a broader understanding of the field of sociology, find the answer I want, hoping to improve my communication skills in the future social life.


•  International English skills

In addition, when I decided to study in Korea, I had been studying Korean, so my English ability was reduced. Therefore, I hope that through this course taught in English, I can exercise my English listening comprehension. Whether it’s editing Wikipedia or blogging, I hope to improve my reading and writing skills and exercise my academic thinking and expression.
