week4:Good Faith Collaboration

When we talk about Wikipedia, we often mention "Neutral Point of View" (NPOV), which I think is also one of the characteristics of Wikipedia. I personally think this represents the inclusiveness of Wikipedia. It is not only the world's most famous knowledge webpage, but also represents a cultural development trend that tolerance and equality will become.

Collaboration is not only positive, but there will also be contradictions. It is common for disagreements and debates during cooperation. Conflict is not only a fossil, but also plays an important role in social development when dissent. Just as the world is entering the process of globalization irrevocably, the culture of this society is not just a single source, it needs multiple cultures to maintain and integrate.

About religion and politics. They are always sensitive and easily discussed topics. The same sex of humans will make us subconsciously find people who have the same opinions as ourselves. But the result of this behavior is often that we fall into a vicious circle of narrow views, which seems to be a bit of the "silent spiral theory" in communication studies. I personally think that it is necessary to accept opinions from different positions.

At the same time, these practices are indeed worthy of discussion in the media. Just like Wikipedia, because of the diversity of platform users, it is often pushed to the forefront of public opinion. So far, the society still holds different attitudes towards the definition of it as a knowledge platform. I believe that things that exist in the world must have two sides, so it must have its shortcomings in the process of advancing the development of global information.

Comments

  1. I agree that everything has two sides. Wikipedia have corresponding rules and measures for defects. So wikipedia is regarded as the largest and most popular reference book on the global network.Wikipedia uses its inclusiveness to accommodate people with all kinds of ideas. At the same time, users of Wikipedia should also tolerate its shortcomings.
