W11. Commons: FAQ / Jung jisoo

1. Summary

This material is designed to store contents(ex. images, videos, etc.) that can be used for all Wikimedia projects, including Wikipedia. In addition, it explains the copyright-related description of the contents that can be uploaded and what contents can be uploaded. The contents uploaded to the wiki should be contents that do not have any license issues, such as whether they are a verifiable license or a free license. And when uploading an image, a high resolution is recommended, but the size of the image may be limited. Finally, in the commons community section, we can learn where to ask questions and how to manage documents when we have a question.

2. What I learned & Question

There is a detailed description of the image to be uploaded in this material, so it was possible to know the copyright or classification method related to it. Also, I could see how to move the gallery or change the title, and fix it when an error occurs. In addition to that, there are various explanations related to images in this material, so I think you can learn a lot. What have you learned from reading this material? Do you think you can actually use the explanations in this material to edit Wikipedia?

  1. Jisoo, I read your opinion well. I especially enjoyed reading and learning the category
segmentation and copyright part. As I read this article, I think it was very wise for Wikipedia to create its own free multimedia space. When I actually edited Wikipedia, it was very convenient because I didn't have to double check the copyright issue when searching for images in Commons and using them.
