W12. Wikipedia: Article development / Jung jisoo
1. Summary
This material explains how we can help our articles grow further. First of all, there are four stages in the stage of the article. In the 'Uncreated articles' stage, the subject of the article can be decided by the opinion of the contributor. Next, 'Stubs' refers to documents that contain short content and are likely to be developed in the future. And, most of the documents are included in 'Developing articles', and the quality of the documents should be improved. Finally, 'Featured articles' contains articles that are considered to be the best articles on Wikipedia.
In order to improve the quality of the article, it is important to find good data on the subject of the article. In addition to researching materials online, you can visit the library in person to find in-depth materials. And it's good to keep getting feedback and improve it.
2. What I learned & Question
This material reminds me of the fact that the Wikipedia article we are writing also has steps. I am working on the main project by translating existing materials into English or Korean, but there were difficulties in translating and indicating the source. This is because there were many cases where the source in the original article was not properly indicated. As this article describes how to develop articles, I think that I have been constantly receiving feedback and visiting the library as well as online, trying to create quality articles.
And I saw several articles for feedback on the articles of other authors, which was the last class assignment. Looking at them, I think there were many high-quality materials with well-organized images and reference materials. What difficulties did you have with writing articles? And what did you do to write high-quality articles?
Jisoo, thank you for always good blogging. As you mentioned, it is important to find good data to improve the quality of your article. And, it always seems to be the most difficult. When I write articles, I have to add as many references and citations as possible for the quality of the article, but I'm having a hard time finding them.
