What did I learn while editing Wikipedia?

Through this class, I was able to learn general things about Wikipedia such as Wikipedia editing methods and rules/policy.

Before taking this class, I only knew Wikipedia and did not use it well as a resource for data collection. But while taking this class, I edited Wikipedia weekly, and through this, I became a person who shares information and learns with people. And through the weekly reference material, I was able to find out various information such as the goal, history, and editing method of Wikipedia. After obtaining such information about Wikipedia, it seems that trust in Wikipedia has increased a little. Wikipedia has a relatively meticulous policy, and I got the feeling that it knows what needs to be improved and that it needs to be constantly discussed.

As I learned Wikipedia through classes and reference materials and edited it myself, I think it was an opportunity to change my existing opinion that Wikipedia lacks the credibility of information.

How is this assignment different from more traditional student assignments? Is it more fun?

The difference between this class and other classes is that students have to proceed with the assignment every week. In the other classes I took, I usually did homework for a certain period of time and submitted it to the professor. However, this class had to 10 edits to Wikipedia each week, write a blog, and exchange opinions every week. Therefore, I felt that this way of doing homework continuously every week was different from other classes.

And another difference is that we can get feedback right away and improve in a better way. In other classes I usually took, it would lead to scores right after submitting the assignment or giving a presentation. After the presentation, I was able to get feedback, but I couldn't make changes to reflect that feedback. And it was rare to receive feedback when simply submitting the assignment.
However, in the case of this class, if I left a talk or email to the professor, he told me about the parts that needed improvement through feedback, and through this, I was able to further improve the quality of the assignment. I think this is a big difference from other classes.

I think it was an interesting and useful experience as I was able to learn new things while editing Wikipedia myself, which I never knew how to use. And it was meaningful to be able to write on my blog and see other people's opinions on my writing. And it was interesting that other people were interested in things different from me and had different ideas.
