W15: What did I learn while editing Wikipedia? How is this assignment different from more traditional student assignments? Is it more fun? /Han seung gu

What did I learn while editing Wikipedia?

While I was editing Wikipedia, I found it more useful than I thought. At the same time, I wondered if Korea had used so many good things. I thought that the culture of cooperation, sharing, and discussion, which are values emphasized by Wikipedia, is a necessary posture for our society beyond just online.

I think cooperation, sharing, and discussion are all lacking in Korean society. I hope that if many people learn basic knowledge and attitudes about collective intelligence through Wikipedia, it will also grow. It strikes me that this is by no means difficult. People all tend to want to share their knowledge. On SNS, people always share, share, and share feedback with each other. With a little attention, I think we can get enough people into Wikipedia's charm.

How is this assignment different from more traditional student assignments?

Is it more fun?

In fact, I found this very interesting. The format of other tasks is predictable and sometimes corny. It is a form of presentation, writing a report and taking a test. However, this class had a different format from the general class. I do something myself, and what I do is actually recorded. This felt very rewarding and it was fun.

Of course, I didn't know because it was in English at first, but once I got familiar with the function, it wasn't that difficult, so I was able to proceed well without any difficulty. If I have a chance in the future, I hope I can continue to do Wikipedia.
